This is a healthy sized toy, at over 12 inches long. It might be around 1/16 scale. I don't think many exist due to the plastic being easily broken. This one has some wear, and the hood slightly warped. See pictures for condition details. The wheels spin freely and axles are straight. Whether a police car or the Dukes of Hazzard car- this looks very cool!
The Processed Plastic company was founded in 1948, in Aurora Illinois, then consolidated all operations to Montgomery Illinois as they grew. With the phase out of metal toys into durable plastics in the early 1960's, the company prospered and expanded with 40,000 square feet of additional manufacturing space. They eventually became the largest U.S. manufacturer of plastic dinosaurs, farm animals, and toy soldiers. In the 1990's, the company reached 50 million dollars in sales and was one of the few toy manufacturers still producing in the United States. After many ups and downs with oil shortages and foreign competition, they finally succumbed to the Chinese makers and closed doors in 2005.
