These type of dishes were used in the 1920's by promoters for carnivals, movie houses, gas stations, and general prizes people win. Imaging winning a glass plate at a carnival instead of today's huge stuffed bears! Gas stations would offer the plate if you filled you tank with them. Buy a movie ticket, get a plate, etc. While not very valuable, the beauty and rarity of plates in this great of condition make it worth a spot on your shelf!
This glass plate is a nice size 11 inches in diameter. Very minimal paint chips here, as it can easily flake off in others I've seen. Not an item to use and wash, but more decorative and makes a great antique conversation piece!
