What a neat toy to display in a nursery or kids room! The Gong Bell Toy company goes all the way back to 1866 when they started making bells and toys. Many of their pull toys had bells, chimes or gongs. When the telephone came out, they were one of the first to make telephone toys with of course, bells. Always made of wood and metal, it is believed they could not compete with plastic toys in the 1960's, thus closing the company. Not many of these are left anymore with all the complete pieces like this one.
This toy is played with, but has a great vintage look. There are 10 animals, which I believe is the entire complete set of animals offered. Note that 3 of them are missing wheels. All wood with paper covering. The ark has some repairs over the years as shown with nails in the roof and body. Somebody really loved to keep it going!
It's a pretty big toy at 18 inches long and 11 inches high. Wheels spin as they should and there is a remnant of the pull string attached. See pictures for condition.
