Made in 1952 (as decoded by the serial number), this Argus C3 was one of the top selling cameras in history. The rangefinder mechanism moves and adjusts the lens as it should. The shutter lever functions. The vinyl material is peeling off some, and there is wear near the winder knob. See pictures. Camera is untested, but I see no reason why it would not work. Inside is clean.

Comes with a very nice leather case with a strap fully intact. Argus logo is on the lens cover on the leather. The name Lou Racy is printed on the top (I would assume a former owner).

The Argus camera company was founded in 1936 in Ann Arbor, Michigan- just outside of Detroit and home to the University of Michigan. The first camera, the Model A, was an immediate success as the first low-cost, easy to use 35mm camera in the world. The company was acquired by Sylvania Electric Products in 1959, and sold off in 1969, by which time it had ceased camera production.
